Evi Kalogiropoulou is a visual artist and filmmaker working both in Athens and London. Evi has studied in Athens School Fine Art and she hold a Master from the Royal College of Art in Moving Image.
She accomplished a film commissioned by the Onassis Foundation for the ENTER online exhibition and a film commissioned by PCAI for their film collection. Her film NEIGHBOURS was screened in the Whitechapel Gallery and at the BFI.
Her short film Motorway 65 is part of the Official Selection for the Short Film Competition of the Cannes Film Festival 2020.
Parallel to her career as a filmmaker, Evi had various screenings as a visual artist in spaces such as in Lenbachhaus and in Chisenahale Gallery in London. In addition, she is an artist in Residency in Somerset House Studios in London. Her sculpture work is represented by The Breeder Gallery. In 2019, she participated in the exhibition ”The Same River Twice” organized by the DESTE Foundation and New Museum.
Her projects explore ideas associated with the inclusion/exclusion, cross-culture identity, female figures in Ancient Greek mythology frames and post-apocalyptic environments
